F.A.Q.
What are the textiles made of?
Currently rugs and pillows are hand tufted using a blend of primarily acrylic and some merino wool yarn. They are backed with a non-slip material and trimmed in red linen. Pillows are tufted front and various types of designer upholstery fabrics are used for the backs.
How do I care for the rug or pillow?
Rugs can be vacuumed like any other rug and spot cleaned with mild cleaning detergent as needed. Carefully blot the effected area to treat spills or stains.
Occasionally a long or loose fiber will pop up which you can trim carefully as needed.
Beyond spot cleaning as needed, rugs should only be professionally dry cleaned.
Pillows should never be washed in a washing machine or put in to a dryer. They should only be spot cleaned with a mild detergent and water as needed. Carefully blot the affected area to treat spills or stains. Pillows should otherwise only be professionally dry cleaned.
Where can I put my rug?
Blue Lobster rugs will keep best in seating areas, bedsides and table sides. Do not use a Blue Lobster rug as a bath mat. It is not advisable to use these rugs in high traffic areas like primary entryways, in kitchens under prep or cook areas, or in commercial spaces.
Where can I put my pillow?
Blue Lobster pillows are hand tufted with the same materials as rugs and so while they are quite durable they are best used decoratively. Many Blue Lobster pillows feature extra large hand made pom poms. These pom poms may be irresistible to certain pets and persons who may feel compelled to nibble or pull threads and ruin the pillow. Please keep this in mind before bringing Blue Lobster pillows in to your home.
Do you take commissions?
Currently Blue Lobster is only offering original in house designs and will not be accepting commissions for the foreseeable future.
